The built-in Sidekick II receiver combines a monitor and receiver into a compact package, capable of accepting 3D LUTS for monitoring from wireless transmitters or SDI sources. Each monitor undergoes color calibration by SmallHD to ensure consistent and accurate color representation, covering 100% of both REC 709 and DCI-P3 color spaces. If recalibration is needed, the Color Intelligence engine accepts LUTs from industry-standard solutions.
With true 10-bit color depth, the monitor can distinguish between 1024 levels of brightness per channel, ensuring smooth gradients essential for critical image analysis. The LED backlight provides 1000 cd/m² of brightness, while a dedicated “studio mode” setting offers accurate brightness levels for light-controlled post-production environments.
Despite its post-production suitability, the monitor is robust enough for the production environment, featuring a milled aluminum body, versatile power options, and a wide array of monitoring tools. Having a color-accurate monitor on set provides directors, clients, or DITs with a reliable reference display for virtually any type of production.
